DukanPay Privacy Policy

DukanPay is a smart UPI payment announcement utility. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our application.

1. Information We Collect & Store

DukanPay is designed with a "privacy-first" approach. We handle two types of data:

• Financial Transaction Data: The app detects UPI payment notifications and eligible bank transaction SMS alerts to identify received payment amounts and status. The last 50 transactions are stored locally in a secure database on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
• User Feedback & Metadata: If you voluntarily submit feedback, we collect the message text along with technical metadata (device model, Android version, and app version) to help us troubleshoot issues.

2. Notification Access & Permissions

DukanPay requires Notification Access to detect incoming UPI payment alerts from apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm. This permission is used strictly to extract the payment amount and announce it via text-to-speech. We do not read or store private messages, OTPs, or other notification content.

3. SMS Access Permission

DukanPay may request the READ_SMS permission to detect payment credits received directly into your bank account through transactional SMS messages sent by banks and financial institutions.

• This permission is used solely to identify eligible payment-related SMS messages and extract information such as the credited amount and transaction status for announcement purposes.
• SMS messages are processed locally on your device. The contents of your SMS messages are not transmitted to our servers.
• We do not use this permission to access, collect, store, or share personal conversations, promotional messages, OTPs, authentication codes, or unrelated SMS content.
• Only SMS messages necessary to provide the payment announcement functionality are processed.

4. Data Security & Encryption

We take data security seriously:

• All sensitive financial data, including transaction information derived from notifications and eligible SMS messages, is processed and stored locally on your device.
• Any data transmitted to our feedback servers (via Google Firebase) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard cryptographic protocols (HTTPS/TLS).

5. Third-Party Services

We use Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) to securely store user-submitted feedback and technical metadata. We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising SDKs that track user behavior at this time.

6. Data Deletion Rights

Users have full control over their data:

• Local Data: You can delete all transaction history at any time by clearing the app’s storage/cache in Android Settings or by uninstalling the app.
• Cloud Data: To request the deletion of feedback messages or metadata stored in our Firebase database, please email us at vikasmishra1691@gmail.com. We will process and confirm your request within 7 business days.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected, it is immediately deleted from our servers.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
